What to include in a complaint (Tips)
- What happened, where, and when (dates/times help).
- Who is involved.
- Why you’re concerned (safety, bullying, corruption, harassment, etc.).
- Anything that helps staff respond quickly and safely.
Staying Anonymous & Safety
- You remain anonymous unless you voluntarily choose to share identifying details in the complaint, report, or chat.
- Be respectful and truthful in reporting — misuse can delay help or unmasking your identify (Please refer to End User License Agreement for more details on unmasking).
- Emergencies: If someone is in immediate danger or to report an active situation, call local emergency services first.
Red Dot & Notifications
- Your dashboard shows a red dot when there’s new activity on a complaint.
- The chat refreshes automatically while you are in a chat (approximately every 20 seconds).
- The complaint list refreshes automatically while you’re signed in (approximately every 2 minutes).
Session Timeout & Auto-Logout
- For your privacy, VEGU logs you out after 5 minutes of inactivity.
- If that happens, you’ll see a message: “Session expired due to inactivity. Please sign in again.”
- New activity in the app by the user dismisses the error message and resets the app.
Photos & Attachments (Roadmap)
Support for sharing photos/videos/files is coming soon. Until then, describe details clearly in text; your responders will ask follow-ups in chat if needed.

- Didn’t receive OTP? Check spam/junk or check and re-enter your email (or VGID) carefully; you may try to re-send.
- Can’t find your institution? Use “Add it manually” and continue.
- Chat didn’t refresh? Reopen the complaint; the app auto-refreshes while signed in.
FAQ
Will the institution know who I am? Not unless you voluntarily share identifying info. VEGU is designed for safe and anonymous reporting.
What if my issue is about staff? You can still report. Your message goes to the school’s responder team for proper handling.
Can I delete a complaint? You may choose "Cancel Complaint" option in the chat window of the complaint; however, your institution's responder(s) may keep the complaint open for auditing or tracking purpose..
